In August, 1985, a congress was organized by Christians in Basel, Switzerland,. The second zionist congress was organized in the same room where the first Zionist congress was held by the Jews in 1897. 589 delegates from 27 nations attended to this congress that came true with a big rate of participation. However, this congress was a lot different from the first congress organized by Theodor Herzl. All participants of the first Zionist congress were all Jewish; however, the participants of the second one were mostly Christians. There were just a few Jews, because this congress was the 1st Christian Zionist Congress, and it was organized by Jerusalem International Embassy of Christianity and a major part of the participants were Christians. Several critical resolutions were passed as a result of the congress that lasted three days. These resolutions included supporting and encouraging the Jews of the entire World to immigrate into Israel. Moreover, a request for Israel to officially annex the West Bank invaded by Israel in 1967 was expressed. In short, Christian Zionists wanted to accelerate possession of the promised land by Jewish State established in the Palestine . In the meantime, a moderate Israeli stood up from his back row seat and said that it would be better to soften the expression in the last sentence, because two-thirds of Israeli people opposed to annexation of the West Bank.
