Let’s look at the reasons why Evangelicals turned their face to Christian Zionism. R. Vaught, the priest of Clinton, the former US President, once told Mr. Clinton that mistakes made by him during his time at the office will be forgiven by the God, yet “if you turn your back to Israel, God will never forgive you .” 32 According to Evangelicals, criticizing Israel is equalto criticizing God. The reason for such thinking is what is written in O.T. about  In Torah, it says that under the leadership of Prophet Moses, Israelites were saved from slavery, and God, through Prophet Moses, told them they are a chosen race This is clearly depicted in Mısırdan Çıkış-19, Levililer-20:26 and Deuteronomy-7:6:

19:5 And now, if you will diligently listen to me and keep my covenant, then you will be my special possession out of all the nations, for all the earth is mine,

19:6 and you will be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you will speak to the Israelites.” (Exsodus)

“23:31 I will set your boundaries from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert to the River, for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you will drive them out before you.” (Exsodus)

But, does this idea of chosen race apply to all Israelites? This is a critical detail that needs utmost attention. When expression given under “Exsodus-19:5-6 “, it is evident that such quality does not cover an entire race. What we understand is this quality of being chosen covers those “obeying the rules of God and adhering to agreement.” It is evident that those who have been chosen and given promises are only those who “BELIEVE AND ADHERE TO GOD’S RELIGION.” This issue is mentioned at several place in Torah. There is a threat that those who do not obey the rules of God (religion) shall be constantly blamed:

“26:14 “‘If, however, you do not obey me and keep all these commandments

26:15 if you reject my statutes and abhor my regulations so that you do not keep all my commandments and you break my covenant

26:30 I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars, and I will stack your dead bodies on top of the lifeless bodies of your idols. I will abhor you.

26:31 I will lay your cities waste and make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will refuse to smell your soothing aromas.

26:32 I myself will make the land desolate and your enemies who live in it will be appalled.

26:33 I will scatter you among the nations and unsheathe the sword after you, so your land will become desolate and your cities will become a waste.

26:37 They will stumble over each other as those who flee before a sword, though there is no pursuer, and there will be no one to take a stand for you before your enemies.

26:38 You will perish among the nations; the land of your enemies will consume you.

26:39 “‘As for the ones who remain among you, they will rot away because of their iniquity in the lands of your enemies, and they will also rot away because of their ancestors’6iniquities which are with them.” (Leviticus)

So, being a Jew is not enough to be chosen one. Those breaching treaty, ignoring the rules and failing to fulfill the orders shall deserve a horrible punishment, let alone being chosen. As mentioned in O.T., when they breached the treaty and turned into pagans, they were exiled from their lands several times. Finally, since they refused Jesus Christ, as per the warning of Jesus Christ in Bible, they were sentenced to the above punishment and were exiled.

In the last case they were forced to an exile according to the above punishment. Jews are warned clearly in the Qur’an.

4. And We gave (Clear) Warning to the Children of Israel in the Book, that twice would they do mischief on the earth and be elated with mighty arrogance (and twice would they be punished)!

5. When the first of the warnings came to pass, We sent against you Our servants given to terrible warfare: They entered the very inmost parts of your homes; and it was a warning (completely) fulfilled.

6. Then did We grant you the Return as against them: We gave you increase in resources and sons, and made you the more numerous in man-power.

7. If ye did well, ye did well for yourselves; if ye did evil, (ye did it) against yourselves. So when the second of the warnings came to pass, (We permitted your enemies) to disfigure your faces, and to enter your Temple as they had entered it before, and to visit with destruction all that fell into their power.

8. It may be that your Lord may (yet) show Mercy unto you; but if ye revert (to your sins), We shall revert (to Our punishments): And we have made Hell a prison for those who reject (all Faith). (Al- Isra- 17 )

This is the main fact behind the expected prophecy about Jews among the claimed Armageddon prophecies. Quran makes the final statement about this point.

124. And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: “I will make thee an Imam to the Nations.” He pleaded: “And also (Imams) from my offspring!” He answered: “But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers.” (Al-Baqara -1)

We advise to those seekers of prophecy to take this verse into account. Why? Because propchecies in the Bible about the Messiah have nothing to do with the future and are no way clearly understandable. Above warning is very important as it says “we had punished you twice in the past” by giving evidence from history. It warns as “If you continue to cause anarchy your on earth, Lord will go on punishing you.” To make a summary, Allah made promises in this world and the other world with followers of His covenant. These covenants are for believers and followers of them. It is obvious that they don’t apply to a special race of people completely. Promises made are valid for those days. It is not possible and right to claim that they are valid for today. The best evidence to that is the fact about the  Messiah. The people who carry the expectations of Messiah from the past to now should explain why Jews did not return to the pomised land being lead by the Messiah. Jews returned to their promised lands after 2000 years. Would not this return be lead by the Messiah? As for Jews expected tthat Messiah would be the leader to take them back to Palestine, they are now disappointed. Because the fact about Messiah concerned Babylonian invasion in fact. To put in a nutshell, myths about a chosen nation, promised lands and the Messiah belonged to those times. It is obvious that today people who correlate those myths to today’s times are mistaken. Ehud Olmert saying “Great Israel is a dream” 14 Eylül 2008 Timeturk) was underlining this fact. A land from the Nile to Euphrates rivers for a 6 million Jewish population is too large.

If we will act according to the promises in holy texts, promises are made not only for Jews only but also for other nations.

“55-GOD promises those among you who believe and lead a righteous life, that He will make them sovereigns on earth, as He did for those before them, and will establish for them the religion He has chosen for them, and will substitute peace and security for them in place of fear. All this because they worship Me alone; they never set up any idols beside Me. Those who disbelieve after this are the truly wicked.”  (Sura - 24 Light )

We think now the situation is understood better.  Consider for one moment what will happen  on earth if every nation will claim the lands of ancestors are promised lands by the God and will try to return there? Holy books don’t include just hatred and enemyship. For every nation that is ready  to make peace Torah includes other promises as well.

3- He will judge between many peoples  and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.

4- Every man will sit under his own vine  and under his own fig tree,  and no one will make them afraid,  for the LORD Almighty has spoken. (Micah -4)

If we also consider the understanding of Torah that the holy temple may be used together with other nations, the Dome of Rock has a great territory, they will also find a place for themselves.
