Book of Revelation is claimed to have been written by Apostle John, one of the significant Apostles of Jesus Christ, the author of the final one of 4 Bibles that depicts the life of Jesus Christ. There are two letters in Bible which are claimed to have been written by John. Apostle John was exiled to Patmos Island of the Aegean Sea in A.D. 95 by Titus Flavius Domitianus, the Roman . This section written by John while spending years of exile on this island, addressed to 7 churches in the Aegean region, Anatolia is the 27th and last part of Bible. Apostle John saw a vision in a cave of the island and wrote down whet he saw, and this booklet came into being. The most comprehensive explanations about return of Jesus Christ to the face of earth are found in Book of Revelations, the 27th book of Bible. Although the most comprehensive information is included in this part, the most complicated and hard to analyze information is included in this part as well. In this chapter, I am interested in time the information belongs to, rather than analysis of this information. The other explanations about return of Jesus Christ are also available in Matthew, Mark, Luke Bibles. However, it is so easy to predict the dates of return based on these Bibles, because we have seen that, in these synoptic Bibles, dates of return are given in words of Jesus Christ himself. It is clearly understood from the Bibles that dates of return are somewhere between A.D. 1st century and A.D. 2nd century (Matta-24). I gave detailed information on this issue in the respective chapter dealing with this issue. It is seen that Jesus Christ, before he left this world, told about his return in several parts of the Bible in his very own words. Discussions on this regard are seen in the 1st and 2nd Thessalonians Letters of Pavlus. Therefore, those living during the first church era expected return of Jesus Christ to take place very soon. In A.D. 70, the fact that Jerusalem and Temple were burnt down to the ground means the troubles prior to arrival have taken place. In A.D. 65, erection of a sculpture of Caligula, the Roman Empire in the temple means that the disgusting thing was placed in the temple.66 The breakup of one of the four Kingdoms, namely, the Roman Empire, had taken place too. The numerical value of the ruthless NERON, the Roman empire equals to 666, the numerical value of Dajjal. In fact, it is evident that, in the Book of Revelations, the prostitute Babel represents the city of Rome. Several events that are expected in the Bibles had taken place. However, arrival of Messiah that had been expected for so long had not taken place. In the upcoming dozens of years, this waiting had been given up and the second arrival and the Kingdom of God on earth had been interpreted as spread of Church (interpretation of Augustinus) around the world. After A.D. 400, the entire issue was forgotten up until 1800.67

On the other hand, some descriptions written in the Revelation of John which sounded like a science fiction novel were revived with some forced interpretations pertaining to the present time. In the other sections, since we have concentrated on the events prior to Messiah in the preceding chapters, we will not focus on the details of the same. We will try to understand the events described in the Revelation of John are for the near future, as stated in the first three Bibles, or for the distant future like today. Now, we will question this. Of course, in order to understand this reality, we will try to find some evidences in the Book of Revelations:

“1:1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must happen very soon. He made it clear by sending his angel to his servant John,

1:2 who then testified to everything that he saw concerning the word of God and the testimony about Jesus Christ.

1:3 Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy aloud, and blessed are those who hear and obey the things written in it, because the time is near!

1:7 (Look! He is returning with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all the tribes on the earth will mourn because of him.This will certainly come to pass! Amen.)” (Revelation)

I do not know whether we have anything to add. There is one more for those who still do not get convinced:

“22:7 (Look! I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy expressed in this book.)” (Revelation)

We can show two more evidenced from the final part for who argue that these are still not enough. I advise those of you who wonder about them to look for the other evidences themselves. I guess you will think of the concept of time depicted in the letter that is claimed to belong to Apostle Petrus (2.Petrus- 3:8 Sevgili kardeşlerim, şunu unutmayın ki,Rab’bin gözünde 1 gün bin yıl ve bin yıl 1 gün gibidir.). All of these things are made-up concepts to justify people’s predictions. Why? If you have a look at the part of this website named “WHEN WILL JESUS CHRIST COME BACK TO FACE OF EARTH?”, you can have a better understanding of the situation. Also, let’s evaluate the events one more time given the fact that Jesus Christ did not say in the first three Bibles “I will come back in the 21st century” and “this generation will see my return.” I also would like to advise you to make such evaluation by drawing your attention to the following. Actually, the Church was reluctant to accept the Book of Revelation that was attributed to Apostle John as inspiration of God. Many churches did not agree that this book was divine. First, its was questioned whether it belonged to John. The eastern churches such as Armenians and Syrians did not incorporate this part into the Bible.68 When Martin Luther, the founder of Protestantism, translated Bible into German , he approached to some parts and the Book of Revelation with suspicion like the eastern Churches and placed them in a different part. I advise those who memorized this book, try to adapt the prophecies that did not come true for centuries to the present time with forced comments to examine the validity of this book. Many of the prophecies found in Torah and Bible had taken place in A.D. 1st century. There are some other prophecies which are included in the Book of Revelations and the first three Bibles and talk of the celestial bodies. Let’s talk about one last prophecy for those who have some hesitations about realization of prophecies:

“13:24 “But in those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light;

13:25 the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.

13:26 Then everyone will see the Son of Man arriving in the clouds with great power and glory.” (Mark)

It is said that some events will occur in the sky on the days of great destruction before the return. What is the source of these sayings? A.D. 70 Kafter Jerusalem and temple were destroyed, in A.D. 79, the Volcano Vesuvius erupted and it was not possible to see Sun and moon for some time due to clouds of dust created. So, this prophecy had come true back in those years. Nobody should wait for the fall of stars and disappearance of sun. IF Jesus Christ is going to return after these events in the sky, let nobody hope for breakout of Armageddon, because it is unlikely for anyone to survive to see his return and fight the Armageddon once the skies are torn apart. It is important to note that. Let nobody have a question in their minds.

Actually, several Christian theologians like me think that the events that are said to take place prior to Messiah as written in the Bible are likely to have taken place in the past. Today, detailed analyses on this issue are found in the book entitled “Christian Theology” which was written by the Wayne Grudem and Jeff Purswell, the Theology Professors of USA and translated into our language. As a consequence, they believe it is reasonable to think that many of the prophecies except for the signs in the sky have taken place.69 I believe it is reasonable to think that the indications of this event took place upon eruption of Vesuvius.
